China launches logos for 2025 Space Missions, highlighting the commitment and bravery of Chinese astronauts.
The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) revealed logos on Monday for three major missions in China’s manned space program scheduled for this year: the launches of the Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 crewed spacecraft, and the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft.
The new logos represent the bravery and determination of Chinese astronauts, reflecting their dedication to unraveling the universe’s mysteries, according to CMSA.
Each manned mission has had its own logo since China’s first crewed spaceflight, Shenzhou-5, in 2003. The CMSA began soliciting logos for its space missions in 2023 and has continued the practice.
The crews for the Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 missions will each consist of three astronauts. Shenzhou-20 is set to dock with the space station’s core module radial port, while Shenzhou-21 will dock with its front port.
The astronauts’ primary tasks will include extravehicular activities, cargo deliveries via the station’s cargo airlock module, and conducting space science experiments and technology tests.
In the latter half of 2025, China plans to launch the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province. This mission will deliver supplies, propellants, and various payloads to support the astronauts’ needs and space station operations.
China’s manned space station program has entered its application and development phase, with plans for two crewed missions and one to two cargo missions annually.
