The 2025 China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Forum took place on Thursday in Astana, Kazakhstan, centered around the theme of fostering a stronger China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his congratulations to the participants through a message to the forum.
In his letter, President Tokayev highlighted that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, has gained broad global recognition as a vital framework for advancing international collaboration.
Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to nurturing friendly ties with China, stating that the forum is designed to enhance cooperation and integration between China and Central Asian nations. He noted that the event, grounded in mutual trust and consensus, plays a key role in fostering media partnerships, and he wished it great success and impactful results.
Forum participants agreed that media collaboration forms a crucial part of China-Central Asia relations. They urged media organizations from both sides to embrace the current global trends, deepen cooperation, highlight stories of mutual friendship, and contribute to building a stronger, united future for the region.
The forum was co-organized by China’s People’s Daily and Kazakhstan’s Presidential Radio and Television Administration.
The event brought together over 200 delegates, including media professionals, government officials, academics, scholars, and business leaders from both China and Central Asian countries.
The forum also featured the opening of the “2025 China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Forum Photo Exhibition” and the launch of the “China-Central Asia Media Joint Interview on High-Quality Belt and Road Initiative Cooperation.”
