China-Cambodia strengthen “Ironclad” friendship as the Chinese foreign minister and Cambodian deputy prime minister held a meeting.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met on Thursday with Prak Sokhonn, Cambodia’s deputy prime minister, foreign minister, and chairman of the Commission for External Relations of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that the longstanding friendship between China and Cambodia has endured despite global changes. Under the strategic direction of both countries’ leaders, this “ironclad” relationship has reached a new phase.
Wang expressed China’s readiness to maintain close high-level exchanges with Cambodia, advance the construction of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future, and strengthen strategic coordination. These efforts aim to address risks, protect the rights of both nations, and foster regional peace and stability.
Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to its friendly policy toward China. He highlighted Cambodia’s intent to deepen political trust, expand practical cooperation, strengthen diplomatic alignment, and further elevate Cambodia-China relations.
