China, Brazil agree to strengthen political mutual trust as Wang Yi met Celso Amorim , special advisor to Brazil’s President during BRICS conference in Russia.
China will collaborate with Brazil to enhance strategic cooperation and build stronger political trust, according to Wang Yi, director of China’s Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. This statement was made during a meeting with Celso Amorim, a special advisor to Brazil’s president, in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the BRICS high-ranking officials’ conference on security matters. Wang emphasized that both China and Brazil are key stabilizing forces and significant developing nations, committed to global peace, stability, and development. He expressed China’s readiness to further strengthen strategic ties with Brazil, deepen mutual trust, and expand cooperation.
Amorim acknowledged the close communication and strong collaboration between Brazil and China. He affirmed Brazil’s intention to work with China on future high-level engagements and to further develop their bilateral relationship.
Both parties expressed a desire to work with BRICS partners to align their voices and protect shared interests, aiming for greater outcomes from BRICS cooperation. They also discussed the Ukraine crisis, emphasizing the importance of uniting countries to build international consensus for peace.
