China and DPRK leaders celebrate 75 years of diplomatic ties marking a significant moment in history.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, exchanged congratulatory messages on Sunday in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea.

Xi, also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), highlighted that the formal diplomatic relationship between China and North Korea, initiated 75 years ago, marked a significant and historic moment in their bilateral relations.

Over these 75 years, Xi emphasized, both nations have supported one another in strengthening their respective governments, protecting national sovereignty, enhancing cooperation and exchanges, and advancing socialist development. They have also collaborated to ensure regional peace and stability, as well as uphold fairness and justice internationally.

Xi stressed that the longstanding friendship between China and North Korea has withstood the test of time and global changes, making it a valuable asset for both countries and their citizens.

Xi expressed his appreciation for the growth of China-North Korea relations, mentioning that he has met with Kim multiple times and maintained close contact through letters, working together to guide and strengthen their ties.

Under current global conditions, Xi expressed China’s willingness to use the 75th anniversary as a catalyst to further enhance strategic communication, deepen cooperation, and continue building on their historical friendship, ensuring lasting progress for both nations’ socialist goals and bringing greater benefits to their people.

In his message, Kim acknowledged the significance of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations 75 years ago, which set the stage for a new phase of bilateral relations.

Kim noted that over the past 75 years, both countries have remained committed to their socialist ideals, overcoming numerous challenges and steadily advancing on their chosen paths.

Additionally, Kim emphasized that maintaining and developing the historic DPRK-China friendship aligns with the best interests of both nations.

Kim also affirmed that North Korea’s government and party will continue to focus on strengthening and developing their cooperative relationship with China, in line with the needs of the new era.

Finally, Kim wished for continued success for the Chinese people in their efforts to build a modern socialist nation, under the leadership of the CPC, with Xi at its helm.
