Two local assembly SUVs made by the cooperative plant of China’s Chery and Pakistan’s Ghandhara Nissan Limited, will be launched in the first quarter of 2022 in Pakistan.
The two SUVs Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 4 Pro made debut at a media connect held on Tuesday.
Tiggo 4 Pro, a 5-seater SUV with the latest generation 1.5TCl engine, could provide drivers comfortable on-road experience.
Tiggo 8 Pro features a 1.6TGDl engine and can produce 195 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque with Dual Clutch Technology.
Customers said it is “incredible” for a 1.6TGDl engine to make such a huge power output.
Felix Hu, the General Manager of Pakistan Chery told Gwadar Pro that Chery and Ghandhara Nissan’s cooperative assembly plant is being built at Port Qasim in Karachi.
It is expected to be completed and put into operation in January 2022. The plant’s capacity will be 16,000 units a year and then will be increased to 32,000 units a year.
Hu added that upon operation of local assembly, they plan to export SUVs to Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The cooperative plant will not only create job opportunities, but also make contributions to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to Chery.
