The 23rd China Changchun Jingyuetan Vasaloppet International Skiing Festival began on Saturday at Jingyuetan National Forest Park, located in Changchun, Jilin province.
This year’s festival drew more than 2,000 participants from 33 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Norway, and Canada. Among them were over 600 international athletes and guests, making it the largest edition of the event to date.
After the opening ceremony, athletes competed in five different races, spanning distances of 50 kilometers, 25 km, 6 km, 1.5 km, and 0.3 km, allowing skiing enthusiasts of all levels to participate.
Originally established in Sweden in 1922, the Vasaloppet ski festival was introduced to Changchun in 2003.
