Beijing has sent off its first China-Europe freight train of the year, carrying a shipment of goods such as tires and household appliances, with its final destination being Moscow.
Wang Chuanmeng, chairman of Beijing New Land Port Group, noted that the regular operation of this freight service will enhance industrial cooperation and bolster Beijing’s commercial ties with Russia and nearby nations. He emphasized that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as a manufacturing and innovation hub, will benefit from consistent logistics support to help local businesses expand globally.
The train consists of 90 containers with cargo valued at over 4.9 million yuan (around $670,000). Departing through Manzhouli port, it will cover a 9,000-kilometer route to Moscow, with stops planned in cities such as Novosibirsk and Ulyanovsk. The journey is expected to take about 16 days.
Liu Shouzhi, a logistics official at the Beijing Railway Logistic Center, said the freight service follows a priority handling protocol – ensuring timely scheduling, loading, and customs clearance for efficient transit.
