Carrying automotive electronic components and other goods, the train left Chongqing’s Tuanjiecun Station around 5:00 am, with an expected arrival in approximately two weeks.
Originally starting its journey from Hanoi, Vietnam, on October 15, the train arrived in Chongqing for adjustments before continuing on.
This first ASEAN Express train from Chongqing represents the integration of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor with the China-Europe freight train service, two major trade pathways for international commerce.
Starting in Vietnam, the entire journey should take about 25 days, cutting transit times by five to 10 days compared to previous Asia-Europe routes.
Operated jointly by Yuxinou (Chongqing) Supply Chain Management Co Ltd and New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Co Ltd, the express service is designed to enable faster transit and enhanced customs clearance, as noted by Liu Taiping, general manager of Yuxinou (Chongqing).
In the past, ASEAN-Europe freight transport primarily depended on maritime routes.
