A Pakistan Army Major and a soldier were martyred during an operation against terrorists in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the intelligence-based operation took place on the night of 29/30 January 2025, following information about the presence of terrorists in the region.
During the operation, the security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in the death of six terrorists. However, during a fierce firefight, Major Hamza Israr, who was leading his troops bravely, and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, who fought gallantly, made the ultimate sacrifice and were martyred.
The security forces are continuing a sanitization operation to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating terrorism, and the sacrifices of these brave soldiers further reinforce the country’s determination to combat this threat.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for their bravery in eliminating the Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists during the operation in North Waziristan. They honored Major Hamza Israr and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Both the President and Prime Minister praised the bravery and patriotism of the two martyrs, expressing deep sorrow over their loss. They also extended condolences to their families, with President Zardari offering prayers for their patience and expressing the country’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
President Zardari assured that the security forces would continue their operations until all terrorists are eliminated, and that the resolve to eliminate terrorist elements would remain firm. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also pledged that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not be in vain, and the government would work to defeat the anti-state elements.
