Ambassador Jiang Zaidong underscores Pakistan China ties at ‘Esthetic Bridges’ Exhibition which was held on occasion of Pakistan Day.
The inauguration ceremony of the “Esthetic Bridges” exhibition marked a significant moment in the cultural and diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. The event, held on Pakistan’s National Day, brought together distinguished guests, including Deputy Chairman of the Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar, Chairman of the Silkroad Culture Center and former Federal Minister Jamal Shah, and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.
The exhibition, aimed at fostering artistic dialogue, showcased the rich cultural heritage of both China and Pakistan. “This exhibition lives up to its name, not only displaying the unique charm of our two countries’ art but also creating a bridge for meaningful engagement between our artists,” stated Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong during the ceremony. The event underscored China’s commitment to President Xi Jinping’s Global Civilization Initiative, which advocates for cultural exchanges and mutual learning among nations.
Reflecting on the enduring friendship between the two countries, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong recalled the warm reception of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s participation in Pakistan’s National Day parade last year. “The entire audience of Pakistani spectators spontaneously stood up and applauded warmly. The announcer called out in Chinese, ‘Zhong-Ba Youyi Wansui’ (Long live China-Pakistan Friendship). It was a testament to the deep bond between our people, a bond that continues to flourish among the younger generations.”
The historical ties between China and Pakistan have been marked by unwavering support and cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1951, the two nations have stood by each other in times of need. From China’s assistance in building the Karakoram Highway, dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” to Pakistan’s generous aid during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, the relationship has been one of mutual trust and solidarity.
“We stand firmly together, committed to creating miracles of development,” Ambassador Jiang Zaidong emphasized. Pakistan’s economic growth, from a GDP of under $19 billion in the 1960s to nearly $400 billion today, has been supported by initiatives like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Over the past 11 years, CPEC has strengthened Pakistan’s infrastructure, energy sector, and overall economic stability, playing a pivotal role in the country’s development.
The ceremony also highlighted China’s steadfast support for Pakistan in regional and international affairs. “We firmly support Pakistan in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, in choosing a development path suited to its national conditions, and in combating terrorism,” Ambassador Jiang Zaidong asserted.
In recent years, high-level visits between the two countries have further reinforced their strategic partnership. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China in June, Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Pakistan in October, and President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent trip to China in February all exemplify the closeness of the bilateral relationship. “Under the leadership of our nations, CPEC has entered a new phase of high-quality development, offering new opportunities for practical cooperation,” Ambassador Jiang Zaidong added.
As Pakistan celebrated its National Day, the event concluded with renewed pledges of collaboration. “Let us join hands and shoulders to build an even closer China-Pakistan Community with a Shared Future in the New Era,” the Chinese ambassador said. The exhibition not only celebrated cultural artistry but also reinforced the vision of a prosperous, interconnected future for both nations.
The event concluded with well-wishes for continued prosperity and stronger China-Pakistan relations.
