Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited Litong Food Group in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Thursday, inviting the group to establish “Litong Food Park” in Pakistan. This initiative aims to boost value-added products in Pakistan, utilizing the country’s vast agricultural resources to create jobs and contribute to the economy.
Ambassador Hashmi highlighted the potential for enhancing ties between Pakistan and Asian countries through this collaboration, opening up new trade and economic opportunities. He also discussed ongoing cooperation with Mr. Chen Changwei, Chairman of Puji Group, which exports dry chilies from Pakistan.
The Litong Group delegation expressed interest in Pakistan’s agricultural potential and its strategic location for trade with Asian markets. They plan to set up a modern laboratory in Multan City, Pakistan, focusing on research and development for crops like dry chili, sesame, broad bean, and sorghum.
The laboratory is expected to benefit local farmers by providing access to advanced agricultural techniques, leading to increased crop yields and improved quality. Litong Food Group committed to investing $500 million over the next three years to establish a state-of-the-art food park in Pakistan. This investment aims to produce high-quality, competitively priced products using local ingredients and connect with Asian markets.
The collaboration seeks to boost Pakistan’s reputation as a reliable supplier of agricultural goods. Litong Food Company, the first to import Pakistani dry chili, anticipates improved crop yields and enhanced export prospects for Pakistani farmers through this partnership.
