Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, conducted a briefing for Chinese groups and enterprises during the Pakistan-China (Sichuan) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference held in Chengdu, Sichuan province. The ambassador highlighted trade and investment opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, transportation, and logistics in Pakistan. The focus was on promoting collaborations and partnerships between Pakistani and Chinese businesses.
Ambassador Hashmi underscored the role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized that the cooperation facilitated by CPEC provides a platform for businesses to exchange information and explore potential collaborations, contributing to increased trade and investment.
The ambassador mentioned the growing depth of economic and trade cooperation between China and Pakistan, noting that 56 Chinese enterprises have established units in Gwadar. He invited more enterprises from Sichuan to invest in Pakistan, aiming to deepen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Pakistan.
During the conference, Ghulam Qadir, the Commercial Counselor, provided insights into Pakistan’s investment opportunities and policies. Representatives from 11 Sichuan enterprises expressed their interest in investing in Pakistan, spanning various fields such as infrastructure, commerce, logistics, chemical industry, and new energy. The overall aim is to foster closer economic ties and mutual benefits between the two countries.
