Ahsan Iqbal direct ministries to implement CPEC roadmap during a high-level preparatory meeting of CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee in Islamabad.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has instructed the Board of Investment to promptly launch a strategic outreach campaign targeting major Chinese economic zones, aiming to attract experienced companies for relocating industries and developing Special Economic Zones in Pakistan.
He chaired a high-level preparatory meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee in Islamabad, focusing on reviewing progress and finalizing plans for the upcoming 14th CPEC-JCC session.
The Minister called on all ministries to rigorously implement the long-term CPEC plan by aligning their project strategies with sectoral priorities to ensure effective execution.
He stressed the importance of coordinated and proactive efforts across government institutions to make the 14th JCC session a pivotal event in advancing the second phase of CPEC for Pakistan’s prosperity.
Ahsan Iqbal highlighted that the second phase of CPEC, known as ‘CPEC 2.0,’ is now fully integrated into the national transformation agenda under the ‘URAAN Pakistan’ initiative, which aims to drive economic modernization and promote inclusive development throughout the country.
He directed the Ministry of Science and Technology to analyze China’s scientific progress, develop a national science development strategy, and identify ten promising export products to focus on research and innovation.
Additionally, he emphasized the need to strengthen business-to-business cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese firms to open new opportunities for industrial expansion, technology transfer, and job creation.
