ADC martyred during terror attack in Surab, Balochistan after 20-30 armed terrorists carried out a coordinated attack.
A senior official from the district administration was martyred while confronting a terrorist attack in Balochistan’s Surab district on Friday, as confirmed by the provincial government’s spokesperson.
According to Shahid Rind, a group of 20 to 30 militants armed with heavy weapons carried out a coordinated attack targeting a local bank and the homes of senior government officers in Surab Bazaar.
During the assault, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Hidayat Baloch Buledi courageously stood his ground to protect others and ultimately laid down his life in the line of duty.
Rind praised Buledi’s courage, saying he displayed exceptional bravery by facing the attackers head-on despite the serious threat to himself and his family. Women and children were reportedly inside Buledi’s home at the time, further underscoring the selflessness of his actions.
The spokesperson described the attack as part of a wider plot to destabilize the region’s security. He stated it was not a random act but a planned operation executed by proxies with support from foreign elements, especially Indian intelligence.
In response, security forces including the Frontier Corps, local police, and Levies conducted a joint operation to clear the area and eliminate the threat.
Rind emphasized the provincial government’s strong stance against terrorism, affirming that all those involved in the attack will be hunted down and punished. Ongoing search and clearance operations aim to root out anti-state elements with decisive action.
A day earlier, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir addressed the volatile situation in Balochistan, noting that groups referred to as Fitna al Hindustan have launched a campaign of terror. He said these militants are acting as proxies for foreign interests, particularly India, and are not representative of the Baloch people.
The army chief also called for greater national unity and stressed the need for institutional integrity and governance based on the Constitution. He emphasized building a resilient Pakistan where institutions function within legal frameworks, free from political influence, and focused on public welfare, while rejecting any rhetoric that seeks to undermine the state.
