Acting Chinese Consul General Lahore Cao Ke highlighted the importance of Lahore as a pivotal city and commended the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its commendable efforts in promoting trade and industry. He expressed a strong desire for knowledge sharing and technology transfer between China and LCCI, underlining the significance of mutual learning.
Moreover, Cao Ke acknowledged that this year marks the 10th anniversary of both the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative, coinciding with the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He emphasized CPEC’s transformative impact on Pakistan’s economy, backed by a substantial $24.4 billion investment.
LCCI President Kashif Anwar extended warm congratulations to all Chinese friends celebrating their National Day on October 1st, 2023. He praised China’s remarkable journey towards progress and its role as an inspiration to nations worldwide. He highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, emphasizing that it is a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, built on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision for social and economic prosperity. Anwar noted that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has added significant value to these mutual ties.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the 10th Anniversary of CPEC underscores the collective vision of China and Pakistan to shift the focus from geopolitics to geo-economics. Pakistan’s strategic location at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, China, and the Middle East positions it ideally to become a regional hub for trade, commerce, manufacturing, and agriculture.
