In order to provide best technical education to the students of Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute in Gwadar, known as one of the high-valued projects of CPEC, advanced technical tools and gadgets have been distributed among under training batch of students by Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Naseer Khan Kashani.
Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Naseer Khan Kashani who played an important role in the early construction and execution of Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute paid a visit to the institution accompanied by director Muhammad Dawood, Capt ® Muhmmad Gul, Muhammad Hanif, Shakir Baloch and Ghulam Qadir.
Students hailed the dispensation of tools and said that with the collaboration of China, dreams of acquiring technical education free of cost are being realized.
On the occasion, GPA Chairman Naseer Khan Kashani delivered a speech and said that technical education equips people with scientific skills that always promise handsome and well-paid jobs. “Skilled people are the backbone of the country and have the potential to build a strong nation,” he added.
He said that the institute was an excellent institution not only for Gwadar but also for the entire region which would play a significant role in the region’s development. He said its establishment and functioning is playing an important role in securing decent employment by imparting vocational training for talented youths. “Technical institutes play an important role in industrial development and the trained youths would have golden opportunities to get employment in Gwadar Port, Free Zone and other projects of CPEC,” he added.
The project was launched under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Gwadar. The institute was completed at a cost of $10 million in only 20 months. It showed a sign of 71 years of Pak-China friendship.
Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute Gwadar, has already started short courses to provide vocational training to students. The first-ever modern vocational and technical training institute in Gwadar accommodates 256 trainees at a time and provides training opportunities for at least 1,000 people every year.
The students after completing their course work would be sent to China for visits to various industries to get hands on exposure to modern technologies and industrial advancements.
The Institute would help fulfill the maritime skilled manpower requirements of Gwadar Port after the development of industrial projects including Gwadar Port Free Zone, Export Processing Zone and other industrial and port-related projects.
