China’s Tang International Education Group has launched a Modern Sino-Pak Dual Diploma/Dual Degree Joint Education Programs. Addressing the launch ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque said that Pakistan has a large youth population which will greatly benefit from the vocational training and technical education under these programs. He also stressed that over the past few years, education cooperation between Pakistan and China has been stressed as important, and highlighted how under various programs, Pakistani students have learned Chinese and about the country’s history.
“Pakistan has a large population of young people, and we need to do more for their empowerment. Today’s event would strengthen both governments’ efforts and become a very important part of improving the technical educational infrastructure in Pakistan,” noted H.E. Mr. Moin ul Haque, Pakistani ambassador to China, while addressing the Launching Ceremony (China Side) of CCTE Model (Modern Sino-Pak Dual Diploma/Dual Degree Joint Education Programs) held on October 13.
Hosted by Tang International Education Group, China, the launching ceremony is aimed at promoting the development of vocational and technical education in Pakistan. During the event, 5 strategic cooperation agreements were signed, including agreements signed by UAF & Zalmi Foundation & Tang, Bailie & UAF & Zalmi Foundation & Tang, Bailie Vocational College & Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology & Tang, and PAF-IAST & Tang&Zalmi Foundation.
“During these years, the area of education has become very important between the two countries,” said Moin ul Haque, adding that China is now the largest destination for Pakistani students. Nearly 28,000 Pakistani students are studying in various Chinese universities.
As per Moin ul Haque, these students have learned the Chinese language, history and culture and have become a very important force of connecting two people and promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people contact.
He added, all the efforts that are made by the two governments – including the development of special economic zones and industrial parks in Pakistan – would require high skill labor.
“Now under CPEC Phase II, we are focusing on industrialization, agriculture, science and technology, including technical and vocational training. And all these areas are important for the social economic development of the country. They are all people centric, creating jobs and improving the livelihoods of our people,” Moin ul Haque mentioned.
It is worth mentioning that under CCTE Sino-Pak Dual Diploma Joint Education Program, the students need to study for 2 years in Pakistan and 1 year in China. Tang International Education Group will try its best to coordinate resources to assist students’ scholarships, accommodation and food expenses. The students will get one diploma certificate issued by China’s leading vocational college and the other one will be issued by a Pakistani counter partner.
Under the program, Tang International Education Group will facilitate these students to have good jobs in different industries, especially under CPEC in Pakistan. These students will be considered technicians/supervisors as per 3 years DAE program. They can handle middle-level management matters in different industries in Pakistan.
