The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the 2026–27 academic year, aimed at strengthening educational ties between Pakistan and China. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan will manage the nomination process and shortlist eligible applicants for these scholarships.
The program covers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees across a variety of academic fields, with an optional one-year Chinese language preparatory course for students who require it. Both Chinese- and English-taught programs are available for Master’s and PhD candidates, while undergraduate students without HSK Level 3 certification must complete the preparatory year.
Scholarship benefits include full coverage of tuition fees, administrative costs, and health insurance. Students will also receive free or subsidized accommodation and a monthly stipend, although travel expenses are to be borne by the awardee.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to be Pakistani or AJK nationals, in good health, and have completed their current academic programs by the application deadline. Age limits are under 25 for undergraduates, under 35 for master’s, and under 40 for PhD candidates. Applicants must also meet CSC and university admission requirements, including academic performance and language proficiency.
Students applying for professional programs, such as medicine, engineering, law, architecture, and veterinary sciences, must confirm accreditation with the relevant Pakistani council. Additionally, valid USAT or HAT scores are required, depending on the program level.
Applicants must submit applications through both the HEC and CSC portals before the deadline. These scholarships provide a unique opportunity for Pakistani students to pursue higher education in China while strengthening bilateral educational relations.
