Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun stated on Monday that the trilateral meeting among China, Bangladesh, and Pakistan yielded highly productive outcomes across four key areas.

During the meeting, the three countries conducted broad exchanges on enhancing trilateral cooperation under the framework of China-Pakistan-Bangladesh collaboration.

They agreed to promote cooperation grounded in principles of good-neighborliness, mutual trust, openness, inclusivity, common development, and win-win outcomes. The focus of the trilateral cooperation is to stimulate economic development and improve the well-being of the people.

All three sides committed to exploring and implementing joint projects in a wide range of sectors, including industry, trade, maritime affairs, water resources, climate change, agriculture, human resources, health, education, culture, youth, and think tanks.

A working group will be formed to follow up on the agreements made during the meeting and ensure timely implementation.

The three nations emphasized that their cooperation reflects true multilateralism and open regionalism, with no intention of targeting any third party.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, who chaired the meeting, reiterated China’s dedication to building a community with a shared future with its neighbors. He noted that the trilateral cooperation serves the shared interests of all three nations and contributes to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

He added that both Bangladesh and Pakistan are close neighbors, reliable friends, and key partners in China’s high-quality Belt and Road Initiative.

As influential members of the Global South and major players in the region, all three countries share the goal of national development and modernization, which requires a peaceful and stable regional environment, Sun said.

The China-Pakistan-Bangladesh Trilateral Vice Foreign Minister/Foreign Secretary-level meeting was held on June 19 in Kunming.

Participants included Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, Bangladeshi Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique, and Pakistani Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific) Imran Ahmed Siddiqui. Pakistani Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch also joined the first session via video link.
