China’s Sept 3 Parade to showcase domestically-developed active military equipment as the event will mark 80th anniversary of the victory against Japanese aggression and fascism.
A military officer announced on Tuesday that the upcoming parade on September 3 in Beijing’s Tian’anmen Square will spotlight Chinese military equipment that is both domestically developed and currently in use by the armed forces.
The event is part of the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The parade will include marching troops, armored vehicle formations, and aerial displays, and will also unveil advanced combat units featuring unmanned and intelligent systems.
Wu Zeke, a senior official from the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, stated that the marching formations will represent the reorganized structure of China’s armed forces, reflecting changes brought about by recent military reforms and the integration of various service branches.
According to Wu, the armored formations will emphasize the latest achievements in China’s weapons development and modernization efforts.
He noted that the integration of different units into composite formations demonstrates the Chinese military’s shift toward joint command, joint operations, and joint support, highlighting its innovation in domestic weapon development.
Wu added that the aerial segments of the parade will underscore the growing sophistication of China’s air combat capabilities and its rapid enhancement of modern military strength.
