Chinese Ambassador meets Minister Jam Kamal where he praised Pakistan’s recent economic policy decisions and efforts for reform.
In a notable step to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and China, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met with Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan at the Ministry of Commerce in Islamabad.
Accompanying the ambassador was a senior delegation including Minister Counselors Yang Guangyuan and Xu Hangtian, Second Secretary Wang Cun, Third Secretary Zhang Datuo, and Attachés Liu Lezhen, Yang Dapeng, and Wang Jingjiu.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s recent economic policy decisions and reform efforts. He highlighted progress in key economic indicators such as GDP growth, declining inflation, and improved investor sentiment, attributing the turnaround to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
The discussions centered on expanding bilateral trade and investment. Both sides reviewed the current status of economic ties and deliberated on ways to strengthen cooperation, especially in newly emerging sectors.
They reaffirmed their shared goal of boosting economic connectivity, encouraging fair trade, and facilitating mutual exchange of products, services, and technical know-how. The two parties also committed to maintaining close coordination for the successful implementation of joint projects and identifying new collaboration avenues.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to inclusive economic development, enhanced regional linkages, and lasting prosperity for both countries.
