Sindh partners with China to launch Super Mini Truck assembly line reflecting crucial industrial growth and technological advancement.
The Government of Sindh, Pakistan, announced on May 18 the launch of a Super Mini Truck assembly line in Karachi, in collaboration with Chinese investors, signaling a significant step towards industrial growth and technological partnership. This announcement was made by Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon during the vehicle’s unveiling ceremony in Bozhou, China.
At the event, Sharjeel Memon highlighted that the Chinese investors have committed to establishing the assembly plant in Karachi, which is expected to benefit numerous business sectors and individuals. He also mentioned future plans to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout Sindh.
The Super Mini Truck, a groundbreaking vehicle, was developed jointly by China’s Chery Holding and Peddy Technology Company Limited. One of its standout features is its versatility, as it can be easily converted into a super mini car, offering a flexible transportation option.
Memon lauded the vehicle as a prime example of Pakistan-China industrial cooperation and technological exchange, emphasizing that it would create new opportunities for development and prosperity in both countries.
Describing the Super Mini Truck as a sustainable, affordable, and accessible transportation solution, Memon noted its ability to tackle logistics challenges in both urban and rural settings. He added that the vehicle combines advanced engineering, smart design, and environmental friendliness, making it well-suited to meet Pakistan’s rising demand for light commercial vehicles.
Memon stated that the Karachi assembly plant would accelerate industrial growth, promote local parts manufacturing, generate employment, and facilitate technology transfer. He remarked that the project represents a concrete move toward positioning Karachi as a regional automotive manufacturing center.
To ensure the project’s success, Memon assured that the Sindh government would provide full regulatory support, infrastructure development, and workforce training.
