Canton Fair 2025 sets record with global buyer surge seeing a 17.3 percent increase from the last session.
The 137th China Import and Export Fair, commonly referred to as the Canton Fair, wrapped up on Monday in Guangdong Province, with more than 288,000 foreign buyers in attendance.
This figure marks a 17.3% rise from the last session, setting a new record. Of the attendees, 171,750 were first-time visitors. Buyers from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries reached 187,450, growing 17.4% year-on-year and accounting for nearly 65% of all international participants.
Additionally, the fair drew over 527,000 online buyers from 229 different countries and regions worldwide.
The exhibition featured 4.55 million products in total, including 1.02 million new items, 880,000 eco-friendly and low-carbon products, and 320,000 smart technologies.
A standout feature of the fair was the first-ever service robotics section, where 46 domestic companies showcased more than 500 high-tech robots spanning 60 types of industrial uses.
Since its inception in 1957, the Canton Fair has been held biannually in Guangzhou. As China’s oldest and most comprehensive international trade fair, it is regarded as a key indicator of the nation’s trade health.
