China has conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the victims affected by the port explosion in southern Iran, according to a statement by a foreign ministry spokesperson on Monday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made these remarks in response to the massive explosion that struck Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, located in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, on April 26. Reports indicate that the blast has resulted in 40 fatalities, over 1,000 injuries, and six people still unaccounted for.
During a routine press conference, Guo expressed that China offers its sincere sympathies to the Iranian government, the bereaved families, and the injured, while also extending best wishes for the speedy recovery of those hurt in the incident.
