At least 3 Balochistan Constabulary cops martyred in IED blast in Mastung district.
Three members of the Balochistan Constabulary lost their lives and 19 others sustained injuries on Tuesday after their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED).
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind stated that the attack occurred while the Constabulary vehicle was traveling from Kalat. Among the wounded, two individuals are reported to be in critical condition and are under medical care.
Following the explosion, security personnel promptly reached the location, secured the area, and initiated a search operation.
Authorities confirmed that the deceased and injured officers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment and completion of official procedures. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and instructed that the injured receive high-quality medical care.
In his statement, CM Bugti emphasized that any negligence in treating the injured would not be tolerated and assured the families of the martyrs that the provincial government stands with them in solidarity.
It is worth noting that a suicide bombing took place last month near the BNP-Mengal protest site at Lak Pass, though no casualties were reported in that incident.
BNP-Mengal leader has been leading a sit-in at Lak Pass in Mastung for over two weeks, demanding the release of detained women, and has vowed to continue until his demands are met.
Attempts have been made by PML-N parliamentary leader Salim Khoso and other party ministers to negotiate with Mengal to end the sit-in, but so far, he has refused to call it off.
