A new joint logistics and training center, created by the armed forces of China and Cambodia, was officially launched and became operational on Saturday at Cambodia’s Ream Naval Base.
The center aims to assist the two countries’ military forces in carrying out regional counter-terrorism efforts, disaster prevention and response, humanitarian aid, joint training, and other operations, as per a statement from China’s Ministry of National Defense.
According to the statement, personnel from both nations will be stationed at the center to ensure its continuous and smooth operation.
The development and functioning of the center reflect the mutual respect and equal consultation between China and Cambodia. The project complies with both countries’ domestic laws, international laws, and global standards, and is not directed against any third party.
The creation of the center is expected to further enhance the practical cooperation between the two militaries, helping them better meet international obligations and contribute to global public security.
