The Red Cross Society of China announced on Saturday that it has deployed an international rescue team and dispatched emergency relief supplies to assist in rescue and recovery efforts following the 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday around midday.
The initial shipment of aid includes 300 tents, 2,000 blankets, 600 folding beds, and family relief kits designed to support 2,000 affected households. These supplies were transported from the organization’s disaster relief center in Yunnan province, which shares a border with Myanmar.
Additionally, the Red Cross Society’s international rescue team has been dispatched to Myanmar to conduct humanitarian aid and rescue operations in the earthquake-stricken areas.
The organization stated that it will continue assessing the situation and extend further humanitarian assistance as required.
