MIRPUR, June 19 – Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) President of the Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), said Friday afternoon that the Muzaffarabad-Mirpur motorway and a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mirpur would be completed soon under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in AJK.
“Both gigantic projects have been included in the CPEC projects in AJK with the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he said while speaking at a public gathering.
Chaudhri said that AJK would be made the hub of tourism since it was enriched in tourism and hydropower resources.
He said that since AJK was enjoying the massive potential of basic economic resources, PTI “would utilize these economic resources and promote the tourism industry apart from establishing scores of hydropower projects.”
He underlined that the 30.6 MW Jagran Hydropower Project in Muzaffarabad was contributing Rs. 600-700 million to the State’s exchequer.
Chaudhry, former AJK Chief Minister, said that the advent of CPEC projects in the industrial sector in Mirpur would open new vistas of jobs for the unemployed, educated, skilled, and the unskilled youth in various disciplines.
