The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Thursday approved the restricted export of potassium sulphate fertiliser from the Gwadar North Free Zone. M/s Agven Private Limited has been permitted to export up to 10,000 tons annually, as stated by the Finance Division.
The decision was made during an ECC meeting presided over by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The committee granted M/s Agven Private Limited an exemption, allowing it to export either up to 10,000 tons per year or 50% of actual production, whichever is lower, until December 31, 2025.
According to the official statement, this measure aims to promote the development of the Gwadar Free Zone while maintaining regulatory oversight. To ensure compliance, biannual shipment limits and data monitoring mechanisms will be implemented.
Earlier, it was reported that the ECC was expected to approve potassium sulphate exports from Gwadar Port, along with security charges for the Reko Diq Project to the Frontier Corps Balochistan (South).
