CPPCC urges advisers to boost modernization with key proposals by offering high quality consultations.
National political advisers have been encouraged to contribute to the country’s key initiatives and enhance public welfare by offering high-quality consultations and recommendations, further advancing China’s modernization efforts.
Wang Huning, chairman of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), emphasized this while addressing approximately 2,100 national political advisers at the closing session of the CPPCC’s third meeting in Beijing on Monday.
President Xi Jinping, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, along with other senior leaders, attended the meeting at the Great Hall of the People.
Wang urged political advisers to concentrate on critical challenges in deepening reforms, promoting high-quality growth, enhancing public welfare, and ensuring social stability. He stressed the importance of thorough research and well-founded proposals to address these issues.
The CPPCC should further strengthen its role in reflecting public concerns, connecting with citizens, and fostering national unity, both domestically and among overseas Chinese communities, Wang added.
During the meeting, several resolutions were passed, including those concerning the work report of the CPPCC Standing Committee, a review of the handling of previous proposals, an assessment of new proposals, and a political resolution on the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
