Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Friday that China’s head-of-state diplomacy has led to significant and positive transformations in its global relations.
Over the past year, President Xi Jinping has personally overseen and advanced diplomatic engagements, achieving substantial results, Wang noted during a press conference.
China hosted three major diplomatic events last year—the conference marking the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. These events set a new standard for collaboration among Global South nations, Wang highlighted.
He also emphasized that Xi’s four overseas visits in the past year injected fresh momentum into international solidarity and cooperation.
Looking ahead, Wang stated that China’s head-of-state diplomacy will feature new highlights in 2025.
Last month, Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the Asian Winter Games, marking the beginning of this year’s diplomatic engagements, Wang said.
China will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, while hosting major events, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
Wang concluded by stating that China’s head-of-state diplomacy will continue fostering deeper cooperation and shared success with the global community.
