China to strengthen PBM welfare initiatives which focuses on healthcare, education, and financial aid for under privileged communities.
Chinese Minister Counsellor Yang Guangyuan reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) in its humanitarian efforts, which focus on healthcare, education, and financial aid for vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
During a meeting with PBM’s Managing Director, Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt, Yang Guangyuan commended the organization’s nationwide initiatives to uplift those affected by poverty. He emphasized the need for a collaborative approach based on a “smart, small, soon, and simple” strategy, with a particular focus on healthcare, education, childcare, and women’s empowerment.
Yang also expressed a desire to prioritize assistance for poverty-stricken and remote areas, particularly in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to alleviate poverty in these regions. He was accompanied by Second Secretary Ding Haohao and Third Secretary Zhang Datuo. PBM’s Director of Projects, Qasim Zafar, provided a detailed briefing on PBM’s humanitarian programs.
The Chinese delegation was introduced to PBM’s key initiatives, including financial aid for rehabilitation, education, and medical support, as well as programs for orphaned children, women’s empowerment, food and shelter services, and support for differently-abled individuals.
Acknowledging the strong ties between Pakistan and China, PBM’s Managing Director expressed gratitude to the Chinese Minister Counsellor for his interest in partnering with PBM’s social welfare initiatives. Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt highlighted the collaboration as a milestone in improving the lives of disadvantaged communities, even in remote regions.
Additionally, the PBM chief pledged to align the organization’s initiatives with the federal government’s National Economic Transformation Plan, including “Uraan Pakistan,” e-Pakistan, and equity and empowerment programs.
