During his visit to China, President Asif Ali Zardari paid homage to Chinese national heroes by visiting their memorial in Beijing.
At the memorial site, he laid a floral wreath as a symbol of respect and honored the bravery and sacrifices of Chinese heroes.
Earlier, President Zardari met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, in Beijing, where they discussed strengthening bilateral ties.
Both leaders reaffirmed the enduring and resilient friendship between China and Pakistan, which has deepened over the decades. They highlighted strategic mutual trust as a fundamental pillar of their relationship and stressed the need for continued high-level engagements to enhance practical cooperation.
The discussions also focused on the high-quality development of CPEC 2.0, with particular attention to advancing collaboration in science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
They described CPEC as a model of inclusive development, emphasizing its commitment to win-win cooperation, shared prosperity, and mutual benefits.
Additionally, both sides explored ways to reinforce institutional linkages, including parliamentary exchanges and participation in the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism, to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
