China is committed to working with Africa to implement the Global Security Initiative on the continent, aiming to forge a peaceful and secure path to modernization, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Thursday.
Wang expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Africa in building a robust, all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted China’s unwavering support for African-led solutions to African challenges.
“The African people are the rightful stewards of their continent and possess the wisdom, ability, and authority to address their own issues,” Wang emphasized.
He further stressed the importance of China and Nigeria mutually supporting each other’s core interests, strengthening their relationship as trusted partners. This collaboration, he said, would drive progress in China-Africa cooperation and bolster Africa’s path toward modernization.
