The Chinese Ministry of National Defense convened the 22nd Expert Working Group Meeting as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Defense Ministers’ Meeting on Thursday in Beijing.
Over 30 delegates representing SCO member states and the SCO Secretariat participated in the conference, spokesperson Wu Qian stated during a press briefing on Friday.
The attendees held detailed discussions focused on enhancing practical collaboration in defense and security and refining cooperation mechanisms, Wu reported.
China has assumed the rotating presidency of the SCO for 2024-2025 and will host the 25th Council of Heads of State Meeting next year.
