Sindh govt delegation visits Huawei HQ to advance safe city project to enhance safety of citizens under the Karachi Safe City project.
A high-level delegation from the Sindh Government visited the headquarters of Huawei Technology Limited in China. The purpose of the visit was to assess and review equipment for the Karachi Safe City Project and hold discussions with Huawei’s senior officials.
Huawei Technology Limited, a globally recognized leader in technology, is the supplier of advanced equipment for the Karachi Safe City Project, contributing cutting-edge solutions to enhance urban safety.
The delegation was headed by prominent officials, including Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Muhammad Iqbal Memon, SP Ahmed Chaudhry, PSO to the Minister for Home & Law, DIG Asif Aijaz Sheikh, Director General of the Sindh Safe Cities Authority, Bilaluddin Sheikh, Planning and Policy Specialist (Home Department), and Ms. Tabassum Abbasi, Chief Technical Officer of the Sindh Safe Cities Authority.
During the visit, Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar toured Huawei’s Dongguan R&D City, where he observed demonstrations of advanced technologies, such as medium and small-sized drones. He highlighted the potential of these innovations to drive technological progress in Sindh and attributed the project’s vision to President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The minister praised Huawei’s technological expertise and explored future requirements for the project.
The delegation also toured Huawei’s LTE/Network Equipment assembly line, where officials showcased state-of-the-art automated processes designed to enhance production efficiency, precision, and quality. Huawei representatives emphasized that their technology aligns well with the goals of the Safe City Project.
According to an official statement, this visit was considered a significant step toward advancing technology in Pakistan and ensuring the Karachi Safe City Project’s success.
