China launches 5G+ industrial internet pilot program to lead the digital transformation.
On Tuesday, China launched a pilot program to promote the integrated use of 5G and industrial internet across 10 cities, with the goal of speeding up the high-quality development and widespread adoption of the technology.
Cities like Nanjing, Wuhan, Qingdao, and seven others were chosen as the initial pilot cities for the 5G+ industrial internet initiative. These cities will focus on building 5G-powered industrial hubs and innovation ecosystems, which are expected to have a significant impact both regionally and nationally.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) emphasized that these cities will leverage the latest developments in 5G and industrial internet technologies to lead the digital transformation of manufacturing and drive new industrialization efforts.
The MIIT plans to gradually roll out the pilot program, assisting local regions in overcoming challenges while fostering these cities as models for innovation and early adoption of the 5G+ industrial internet.
