IDEAS 2024 highlights Pakistan’s defense progress as the event inaugurated in Karachi Expo Centre.
The 12th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 began today at the Karachi Expo Centre. The four-day event is organized by the Ministry of Defence and the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) and will take place from November 19 to 22. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif officially opened the exhibition.
The exhibition highlights Pakistan’s progress in defence technology and aims to strengthen its international defense relationships.
This year’s IDEAS 2024 has seen the participation of 17 new countries, including Iran, Italy, and the United Kingdom, which distinguishes it from previous editions.
A special hall has been dedicated to start-ups, allowing them to showcase innovative defence solutions.
Notable highlights of the event include the debut of Pakistan-made Haider tanks and Shahpar-3 drones, which demonstrate the country’s increasing self-sufficiency in military production.
The exhibition is showcasing products from 224 local companies and 333 international firms, with over 55 countries presenting their defence technologies and equipment.
The venue for the event spans six halls, along with three additional marquees to accommodate the large-scale showcase.
