Pak FO dismisses speculation, reaffirms commitment to China ties, highlighting the strong dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
Pakistan firmly dismissed “agenda-driven” speculations concerning Pak-China relations based on “unreliable sources” meant to cause confusion.
At the weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the strong dialogue and cooperation between Pakistan and China on various issues, including counter-terrorism and ensuring the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
“We should not be swayed by speculations. I will not engage with media narratives driven by unreliable sources and aimed at creating uncertainty around the Pak-China relationship,” she remarked. Baloch also highlighted the words of her Chinese counterpart, asserting that attempts to undermine mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries would not succeed, and efforts to derail the strategic partnership would be resisted.
Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to protecting Chinese nationals involved in projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Investigation Underway
She also noted, “The recent terrorist attack that claimed numerous innocent lives is under investigation. Our law enforcement agencies will disclose more once the investigation concludes. Pakistan remains deeply concerned about the support terror organizations receive from India, a fact that has been established. Not long ago, we detained an Indian naval officer engaged in espionage and terror activities in Balochistan. We continue to be concerned about India’s involvement in backing such groups.”
Baloch further stated that Pak-China dialogue thrives on mutual respect, beneficial cooperation, and sovereignty.
“We remain dedicated to working with our Chinese counterparts for the safety and security of Chinese citizens, projects, and institutions in Pakistan. As ironclad brothers and strategic partners, Pakistan and China are committed to countering any efforts to harm bilateral relations, including disinformation campaigns. Our relationship is built on mutual trust, confidence, and cooperation,” she lastly concluded, reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to CPEC and Chinese safety in Pakistan.
