Ambassador Hashmi’s visit to Linyi boosts Sino-Pak trade ties and paves ways to enhance cooperation.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited Linyi in China’s Shandong province on October 30 to bolster trade cooperation between China and Pakistan.
During his visit, Ambassador Hashmi met with Linyi Mayor Zhang Baoliang. They engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors, with a strong focus on trade and investment. Key areas included the development of logistics networks and training programs. Ambassador Hashmi expressed Pakistan’s interest in leveraging Linyi’s expertise in logistics and customs. They also explored potential collaboration in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The Ambassador highlighted that deepening ties with Linyi would strengthen the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and foster mutual prosperity through cooperative efforts.
The Ambassador toured major facilities in Linyi, including the Linyi Import Commodity City Mall, Linyi International Trade Centre, Linyi Trade City Holding Group, Linyi Port, and the Linyi Logistics Park. Each site provided him with insights into the latest advancements in trade facilitation and logistics. These visits underscored Linyi’s strategic role in China’s domestic and global trade infrastructure, showcasing how the city’s logistics strengths could be a model for trade and economic partnerships.
Linyi, in Shandong Province, is a key player in China’s logistics sector. As one of the country’s largest logistics hubs, it significantly contributes to both national and international trade, offering modern infrastructure such as Linyi Port and extensive logistics parks. Linyi’s role within China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) positions it as an attractive partner for economic collaborations, including with Pakistan.
