The fifth International Textile and Leather Exhibition, held from March 23 to 25 at the Expo Center in Karachi, was organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to promote the country’s textile and leather industries.
Sajjad Mazahir, General Manager of China Operations for Keywin Trading Ltd., informed that the Chinese firm has partnered with its Pakistani textile suppliers, finalizing MOUs worth USD 40 million for a duration of one year. Consequently, the agreements were signed by Wang Jun from Hunan Dongxin and Sajjad Mazahir from Keywin Trading Ltd., along with representatives from Mahmood Textile Mills Ltd. and Gadoon Textile Mills Ltd.
Moreover, Mazahir noted that around 250 companies are showcasing their new collections, representing the diversity of Pakistan’s textile industry, including denim, home textiles, knitwear, and leather.
Following the signing ceremony, Wang expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Embassy and TDAP for facilitating visits this year and commended this year’s exhibitors, particularly those in Hall 3 and Hall 4.
Lastly, it is worth mentioning that over 600 foreign guests were welcomed with traditional Pakistani hospitality at the venue, including around 30 Chinese visitors from various sectors who attended the expo.
