China and Britain should work for common good according to the Chinese Ambassador to Britain, Zheng Zeguang.
Both China and Britain have significant tasks ahead in terms of economic growth and improving the quality of life for their citizens, stated Chinese Ambassador to Britain, Zheng Zeguang, on Tuesday. He emphasized the need for increased bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Zheng highlighted potential areas for enhanced cooperation, including financial services, renewable energy, green technology, cross-border crime prevention, and AI safety governance. He made these remarks during the China-Britain Business Reception, where he met with business leaders from both nations.
“Our cooperation can stimulate economic growth, lower living costs, improve productivity, and speed up the green transition,” Zheng said. He added that working together on international issues could reduce misunderstandings, ease tensions, and give diplomacy a better chance.
Zheng assured that the Chinese market remains open to British businesses and encouraged more British investors, tourists, and students to visit China.
He advised the business community to focus on China’s market economy reforms, innovation, green and low-carbon development, and the country’s opening-up policies that would help Britain and China to work towards common good.
Peter Burnett, chief executive of the China-Britain Business Council, echoed the ambassador’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to create a stable environment for business between the two countries.
