XI’AN, Aug. 14 – On August 9, the 20th Annual Environmental Excellence Awards ceremony of Pakistan’s National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) was held in Karachi. After review by the expert committee, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. won the “Annual Environmental Excellence Award” again. The solar PV provider has won this award for two consecutive years, which is a full affirmation of the outstanding contribution made by LONGi to continuously promote the sustainable development of not only Pakistan, but also the globe. Ali Majid, Regional General Manager of LONGi Pakistan, attended the award ceremony.
The NFEH, as a non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), its activities are supported by the Ministry of Climate Change of Pakistan. The Environmental Excellence Award of the Year (AEEA) was presented by the Forum to recognize companies and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to sustainable development and environmental protection in building a “Green Pakistan”.
Sindh Governor, Kamran Khan Tessori, and Sindh Local Government Minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, as the chief guests on the occasion, has jointly given awards to the 86 award winners in recognition of their hard work to reverse the phenomenon of environmental degradation.
NFEH President, Naeem Qureshi, said the Annual Environment Excellence Awards and conference was held every year regularly with the basic objective in mind to discussing prevailing serious environmental challenges in the country and also to recognize and rewarding hard work by the industries and corporate sector in safeguarding the environment.
As of the end of June, the cumulative installed capacity of PV power generation in China was about 470 million kilowatts, surpassing hydropower to become the second largest power source in China, second only to coal power. In the first half of 2023, the cumulative PV power generation reached 266.3 billion kwh, an increase of about 30 percent year-on-year, with the average utilization rate is as high as 98 percent. In addition, the total export volume of China’s PV products in the first half reached USD 28.92 billion, an increase of 11.6 percent year-on-year. The leapfrog development of China’s PV industry is inseparable from the global layout of leading companies.
