GWADAR, March 2 – Chinese Consulate-General in Lahore and the Institute of International Relations & Media Research (IIRMR) are jointly holding a nationwide essay competition on ten years of CPEC from 1st March to 30th March.
The 30-day competition is designed to invoke students’ insights and intellectual perceptions on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), its contribution to the public sphere, its role in modern skills enhancement, job creation, merits and demerits in the wellbeing of common people, youth and women empowerment and those unexplored areas that may help incentivise all to grow and flourish in a new era.
IIRMR Chairman Muhammad Mehdi and President Yasir Habib Khan said that educated youth are assets of Pakistan and can play a vital role in CPEC through their productive thoughts, written expressions and practical involvement. “We welcome students to come up with prolific essay pieces on the subject,” they said.
“Results will be announced on 5th April with cash prizes to top five winners. Rs. 40,000 for 1st position, Rs. 25,000 for 2nd position, Rs. 15,000 for 3rd position and Rs. 10,000 for 4th and 5th position respectively. The competition is open to current students from 11th Class to Master, aged between 15 and 25 years”, they said.
