Xi acknowledged the special significance of China-Laos relations as socialist comrades and neighbors, emphasizing that despite global changes, China remains a reliable friend and partner to Laos. He noted that both countries are embarking on national development and revitalization—China through high-quality modernization, and Laos through its own development stage. Xi expressed China’s readiness to deepen strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation, aiming to elevate the China-Laos community with a shared future to new heights.
Xi also conveyed China’s willingness to expand exchanges and mutual support with Laos on core interests and major concerns. He expressed readiness to import more high-quality agricultural products from Laos and strengthen collaborations in education, culture, and youth exchanges. Xi congratulated Laos on successfully hosting the East Asian Leaders’ meetings and welcomed its active role in BRICS cooperation. He called for continued multilateral collaboration to uphold international justice and the interests of developing nations.
Thongloun Sisoulith recalled attending last year’s Belt and Road Forum and signing a new action plan with Xi to build a China-Laos community with a shared future, which has been successfully implemented. He praised the current state of Laos-China relations, noting the expansion of cooperation in both depth and breadth. He expressed gratitude for China’s valuable support in advancing Laos’ economic and social development and looked forward to further cooperation on the Laos-China Railway and Economic Corridor.
Thongloun Sisoulith reiterated Laos’ unwavering commitment to the one-China policy, affirming support for China’s core national interests, including issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang. He also thanked China for its assistance in Laos’ hosting of the East Asian Leaders’ meetings and emphasized Laos’ readiness to continue close cooperation with China within ASEAN and other multilateral platforms.
