Xi Jinping congratulates to Lam on CPV Communist Party of Vietnam leadership after he won the elections as the general secretary.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a message to To Lam, congratulating him on his election as general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.
Xi expressed his pleasure in learning of To Lam’s election and extended warm congratulations on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and himself.
After securing 100 percent of the approval votes, Politburo member and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, has been elected as General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Xi noted that in recent years, the CPV has implemented the spirit of the resolution from the Party’s 13th National Congress. Additionally, it has vigorously promoted party building and achieved new milestones in socialist construction and the country’s Doi Moi reforms.
He expressed confidence that under the strong leadership of the CPV Central Committee, the CPV and the people of Vietnam will successfully achieve the goals set by the 13th National Congress. Furthermore, they will advance preparations for the 14th National Congress and continue progressing toward the centenary goals of the CPV and the nation.
Xi on China-Vietnam Relations
Xi noted that China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. During his state visit to Vietnam last December, the two sides jointly announced the creation of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, opening a new chapter in relations between the two parties and countries.
Xi stated his readiness to collaborate with To Lam to guide the development of this shared future, strengthen traditional friendship, consolidate political trust, deepen strategic communication, and promote practical cooperation, benefiting both peoples and contributing to global peace and progress.
Xi concluded by wishing To Lam success in his new role.
