President Xi: China to give least developed countries zero-tariff treatment that have diplomatic relations with China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Thursday that China will grant zero-tariff treatment on all tariff lines for the least developed countries with diplomatic ties to China, including 33 African nations.
In his keynote address at the opening of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Xi stated that China will voluntarily and unilaterally expand its market access.
Xi highlighted that China is the first major developing nation and major economy to implement such a measure, emphasizing that this initiative aims to transform China’s vast market into a significant opportunity for African countries.
