China to continue support for Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts

China will maintain its support for Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts, a foreign ministry spokesperson stated on Monday, following the wounding of two Chinese nationals in a shooting incident in Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial center, last week.

Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing, spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that China and Pakistan are resolute and capable of defeating any efforts to harm China-Pakistan relations and will ensure that terrorists face consequences for their actions.

Lin emphasized that China and Pakistan share an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and a strong “ironclad” friendship that deeply resonates with their people.

He underlined that any attempts to disrupt the mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries would fail. China remains dedicated to aiding Pakistan’s economic and social development, improving the well-being of its citizens, and advancing collaboration across multiple sectors for mutual benefit.
