China, Pakistan to turn CPEC into demonstration project: Chinese premier as he is on an official visit to Pakistan.

Li stated that the new airport is a crucial facility for transforming Gwadar Port into a regional connectivity hub and serves as a significant emblem of the ongoing development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Li, since its inception, the CPEC has yielded significant results thanks to the collaborative efforts of both nations and has played a constructive role in advancing Pakistan’s socioeconomic development and fostering regional integration.

Li expressed that regarding CPEC cooperation, China is eager to collaborate with Pakistan, adhering to the principles of extensive consultation, mutual contribution, and shared benefits, while emphasizing openness, green development, integrity, high standards, people’s welfare, and sustainability.

Li praised the new international airport as a vivid representation of the strong friendship between China and Pakistan.

Under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders, the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan has been continually strengthened, with their ironclad friendship remaining resilient against changes in the international landscape, Li noted.

Looking ahead, Li affirmed that China will continue to collaborate with Pakistan to forge an even closer community with a shared future in the new era, delivering greater benefits to both nations.

In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the airport as another testament to the friendship between the two countries, stating that the project’s completion will enable Gwadar Port to fulfill its role as a hub and create unprecedented development opportunities for Pakistan.

Sharif added that Pakistan is eager to work alongside China to accelerate cooperation on the “upgraded version” of the CPEC and achieve more fruitful outcomes in establishing a shared future for the Pakistan-China community.
